What's new in Backward 2.80: - A bunch of new patches : joker are handled for Frename, Ddelete accepts a trailing backslash, Fwrite(-3,...) works, so LPRINT works for GFA Basic. - A great new patch, v_rectfl works with user-defined patterns, so UMS II works now. Sadly, this patch is only for TOS 4.02 and TOS 4.04, but it will be done for TOS 4.01 in the next version. What's new in Backward 2.73: - Two new patches, and a nearly complete swedish translation. What's new in Backward 2.72: - A new patch for gemdos calls. Found thanks to Roger Cupif. By the way, Backward III already includes a more efficient version of this patch. What's new in Backward 2.71: - Many small fixes. Especially, Microprose Golf works really now (a small bug was still wandering). - More patches for programs. What's new in Backward 2.70: - Many new patches, especially for GEM and LineA. - A NEW TOOL : PATCH.GTP. It allows you to modify your still resisting programs. - A new sweedish distributor Sven Bornemark and a new sweedish version. Just run BACKSWE.APP for having sweedish messages. - The exception table option has disappeared and is kept on (moved). - the 68030 options are now disabled in the non registered version. Sad News : Forget my Email address. It is useless. Very Good News : Backward III is on its way. The ehancer part is almost rewritten. I am working now on new features ! New features already done : - Less memory useage, currently down to 128Kb, and it may get even lower. - It is now resident until next COLD boot. With some restrictions, the set-up will be altered accordingly to the launched program. - You won't have to reboot to rerun Backward. - The stack is more protected. A few more games available thanks to that. - The memory space used is reduced in resident mode. Features I am working on : - Use of the Jag joystick for realtime configuration (it seems silly, but using it is safer than the keyboard, believe me). - Use of the Jag joystick as a normal joystick. It can be done at least for system calls, but I am working on a full implementation. - Allowing the TOS to run with caches and at 16Mhz, whatever may be the set-up for the current program. - Forcing programs to use hard disk instead of floppies (but do not expect too much from this). Other unmentionned features will follow. Sincerely yours. Cyrille.
