But if someone was working on a ZIPPER›or Zmodem or Fax software or some of the other wish list stuff, then I think›you'd see more activity. I think GEnie is pretty›good right now, but I dunno. I just think an 8-bit sysop on an online service›has to do more than just be a sympathetic listener. There has to be SOMETHING›HAPPENING. It isn't really listed in the literature sent out to›us. No news is ever presented about it outside of the group. I mean, this›does produce an atmosphere. I don't know how much of it is unavoidable at›this juncture, but facts are facts. The "free" download is an honest gesture I guess,›though the files are pretty stale. If you want an explanation of the›situation I think that pretty much sums it up. Kamaro_kid on Delphi just took›the sigop post and I wouldn't be surprised if he gave GEnie a run for its›money, albeit it seems they wouldn't lose TOO much if everyone defected.›GEnie should realize that Delphi's 8-bit area has been dormant out of›neglect, but that the service itself is cheaper with more features and is a›faster easier to use interface (praying this message doesn't get deleted›).
