Midway Home Entertainment was established in 1994 as Williams Entertainment in connection with its acquistion of Tradewest, Inc. and The Leland Corporation.

1976
Warner Communications acquires Atari Inc.
1977
Atari launches the Video Computer System (VCS), giving birth to
home video game systems.
1984
Warner Communications sells Consumer Electronics and Home Computer
divisions to Tramiel Technologies.
Atari Corporation is formed and its products marketed under the Atari brand. Atari Games Corporation is also formed from the former coin-op division and markets coin-op games under the Atari Games brand.
1987
Atari Games creates consumer division. Tengen is formed to convert
coin-op arcade titles to home platforms.
1994
Atari Games and Tengen merge with Time Warner Interactive Group
to form Time Warner Interactive.
March 1996
WMS Industries purchases Time Warner Interactive from Time Warner,
Inc.
October 1996
WMS Industries creates Midway Games, Inc. a publicly traded company
listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the trading symbol "MWY".
So today, Atari Games is officially, an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary
of Midway Games, Inc. a designer, publisher, and marketer of interactive
entertainment software in both the coin-operated and home markets. Atari
Games' home titles are published by Midway Home Entertainment.
