A hard disk for the C64 - after severall attempts with
old Commodore hard disks, CMD manufactured a special C64 hard disk. It was
a SCSI hard disk which were very expensive at that time.
Colour for laptops: Sharp showed a new laptop with a TFT-display.
TFT-displays need a three transistors for every pixel each one for
red, green and blue. The fourth transistor was only used if one of
the three broke. The PC8501 could display 640*480 pixels in 256 colours
(921600 transistors).
Premiere feiertthe neue Atari-Flagschiff:
The TT. TT steht für Thirtytwo/Thirtytwo, also ein echter 32-Bit
Computer. The Atari TT is eine Profimaschine and unterstützt
serienmäßig Großbildschirme. Mit seinem 68030 Prozessor mit 32 MHz und
ein mathematischer Coprozessor is er gut gerüstet für CAD, DTP und
Simulationen. Tatsächlich werden auch heute noch Zeitschriften
mit ihm produziert,the bekanntesten sind wohlthe Magazine vom
Burda-Verlag. Während er in Deutschland positiv aufgenommen wird,
zeigt man in England, Frankreich and den USA eher Desinteresse. Wieder
einmal macht Atarithe Teilung des ST-Marktes zu schaffen: Während er
in Deutschland hauptsächlich für Anwendungen benutzt wird, gilt er in
England als Spielecomputer. The Spieleindustrie ließ den TT deshalb
auch links liegen,the einzige mir bekannte TT-Spiel is ´Revenge
of the Mutant Camels´ von Jeff Minter.
