DRAGON'S LAIR

CD

Lead on adventurer....your quest awaits!

Type: FMV adventure
Players: 1
Levels: Not implemented
ProController: No

Overview:

This CD is a remake of the famous 1983 arcade game which was the first game to feature full animation and literally stunned arcade-goers. The animation, done by none other than Don Bluth is incredible. Now, the entire experience is on the Jaguar.

Dragon's Lair, while having unbelievable effects, has not always been commended on gameplay. The game itself consists of a lot of trial and error as you guide Dirk through level after level. What basically happens is a process where you see something happening to dirk and then move or slash to avoid it. Sometimes there will be a quick flash of light that will give you a clue as to where to go.

The gameplay, while somewhat simple and often times aggravating, is strangely quite fun... and addictive. The gameplay, enhanced by the animation and music make this game quite an experience. Not only that, but it is an excellent way to show off your Jaguar CD.

Graphics-9
Amazing animation and colour. It looks wonderful excepting sometimes where the video compression makes it look a little muddy.
Sound/Music-8 1/2
This game has all the original music and sounds. Dirk does little grunts and there's lots of effects and great music. The video compression tends to make it less than CD quality but still enjoyable.
Gameplay-8
Yes, you might think this is overated but the gameplay is fun, and consistent.
Overall-8 1/2
This game is a definite purchase if you have a Jaguar CD. It will show it off and is a very fun game as well.
