Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy by Atari

Type:Horizontal Shooter
Players:1
Levels:5 worlds
Procontroller:Weapon Selecting

Rating:
Graphics-9 1/2
Lots of texture mapped and rendered rocks, asteroids, and backgrounds. Very colorful and extra cool texture mapped enemies. The animation is great....There is a lack of parallax though...the background looks like wall paper.

Sound/music-5 1/2
No music, Some O.K. sound effects and stuff. If there would have been music, it would have boosted this game to far above average. At least the sound effects are in stereo.

Control-7 1/2
Your ship is a bit slow, but you can pull it off with skill. Selecting weapons becomes a difficult task in tight situations.

Power-9
All of the objects rotate on their own. Tons of digitized stuff. Smooth bosses and backgrounds. Although some parallax would've boosted this over the edge. Everything's just nice and shiny looking....no slowdown either.

Fun factor-7 1/2
The graphics will keep you playing because they are so awesome. You'll always want to see what the next boss looks like. I really desired music though. Another game that fails in one category and ends up average.

Overall-78%

Quotes:

"Another excellent example of texture mapping in the cartridge arena can be found in Atari's Trevor McFur in the Crescent Galaxy for the Jaguar. The game offers a spectacular variety of texture mapped asteroids and other space debris."-The game docter of Computer game review and Cd rom entertainment, June 1994
