Blue Lightning
Game Description
Blue Lightning is a sequel of sorts to the popular Lynx shooter for the Jaguar CD. In this game your mission is to defeat Draco to prevent him from taking over the world. Blue Lightning contains 40 different missions and over 20 full motion video sequences. In Blue Lightning you are allowed to choose from 7 type flight planes (you must earn the right to use certain ones), and each one has several weapons such as missles, cluster bombs, gatling guns among others. Blue Lightning is the first ever Jaguar CD game!
Graphics: The graphics are pretty good in Blue Lightning. The only problem with the grpahics are some of the buildings for example do not look 3D enough which takes away a little from the graphics. Otherwise the graphics are of pretty good quality. RATING:7.5
Sound: The music in this game is awesome, it is of a top quality and is of the rock genre. There is a wide range of voices they are pretty good but a little muffled, but its not too bad. The effects are good, no major complaints here. All in all, not bad! RATING:8.5
Gameplay: This game plays pretty well. The speed and play in this game really depends on the planes you are using. Certain planes are much faster than others, thus the play differs from plane to plane. The gameplay is pretty good overall! RATING:8
Overall: I really enjoyed Blue Lightning. The major mags seemed to do a lot of complaing about Blue Lightning saying the Lynx version was better, but I totally disagree with that. I had a lot of fun with this game and found it to be of top quality, there are a few small flaws but nothing major. I think this game is a pretty good pack-in for the Jaguar CD. RATING:8
