Subject: the n-tendo

                                     The N-Tendo: By Jared (JRHasbro21)

   It was sometime in the summer of the late 1980's. My older borther, his
friend, and I were having down in my basement. We were having fun playing
Atari 2600 and having wars with G.I. Joes and HE-Men.
   It was about 5:30 p.m. and my father had just gotten home from work. Boy
when he saw the mess he just laughed. At about 6:00 p.m. my mother called us
for dinner and my brothers friend went home. During dinner my dad told us
that we had made quite a mess and he told us that we had to clean it all up.
My brother and I groaned and then my father said his most infamous words to
me as a young child. He said " When you finish cleaning up the basement I
will buy you a N-Tendo!!! ( Athat age I though nintendo was n-tendo. So my
brother and I ran down to the basement and cleaned up as fast as we could. We
finally finished what seemed like it took a day but actually too aboout 30
min. Then we rushed into the car and drove to our local mall "crossroads."
Then we went into the Target store and bought my number one childhood toy the
nintendo. We bought 3 games with it a total of 4 (Mario was packed in). We
also bought Baseball,Prowrestling,and karate (for my oldest brother that was
in Karate. When we arrived home my dad set it up. We were in awe of even the
little things like the contollers. Then we probably had one of our best
nights of our life's. 
   I can remember the highlights of having the nintendo. Like the first time
we got to the 5th level of mario (we then had to pause the game for my
brother to practice his clarinet), the first time we beat bald bull on Mike
Tysons punch out, and every game that came afterward. I now have about 70
games. Then the day came that the nintendo became old,boring,and
unsatisfiable. Then we got the Sega Genesis. But I would never forget the
n-tendo.
