Iron Soldier - REVIEW

Though the graphics could of been a bit better, I.S. does 'measure-up' in other categories.

So here you are, a giant mechanized machine whose sole purpose is to roam around - crushing, shooting and destroying enemies right and left while meeting your mission objectives.

This is the type of game that's difficult for me to review, in that, for example, the graphics in some places are nicely done, yet, in others, a bit of tweaking could of helped. The helicopters are done quite exquisitely, even when shot down, but, use your 'hand' to obliterate buildings or look down at your 'feet' while you walk, and you get the idea.

Overall though, the game does provide great playability. The missions start off easy and gradually get difficult and more involved. Fighting an enemy I.S. is definitely fun, and watching explosions from tanks, buildings and the like adds realism.

The music and sound effects although not extraordinary, do pass as good enough for what you're doing. Game control for the most part is responsive, though there is a slight learning curve when it comes to operating this massive mechanized monster.

As you progress, you have the opportunity to acquire additional weapons to wreck even more havoc. All in all, the game lends itself to be used as a time-killer, and will keep you occupied for hours. I.S. is certainly a game to show-off to your friends.
