SuperBurnout - REVIEW

SuperBurnout is what all Jaguar racing games should of been. It doesn't get any more realistic than this.

Select your bike, your track, and off you go! You can play in Trainer, Record, or Championship mode.

Trainer mode allows you to race against other drones, while attempting to achieve first place. If you find the difficult setting a breeze, switch it to a higher level.

Record mode allows you to race the track by your lonesome. Your objective is to break the track's record. I found this mode to be most enjoyable, and really allowed me to become creative in shaving off precious seconds on my times.

Championship mode is the game. You race through all 8 tracks, and depending on how you place in your previous race, will determine your placement in the next race. You race as you would in 'Trainer Mode'.

Let's not forget that SuperBurnout supports two-players. The screen is set to split-screen mode, and each screen determines player 1 and player 2. There is a slight slowdown in two-player mode, and music is not present.

Each track has its own music associated with it, and I must say (look below) that the music is AWESOME! Another neat aspect of SB is that in certain races, you can see a night race eventually turn into a day race -- provided you've allowed to race enough turns around the track to see the effect. Other tracks offer the opposite. It's a creative twist, and incredible to see.

Graphics are above average, playability -- excellent, game control is superb. This is as close to racing as you can get, without getting dirty.
SuperBurnout contains some of the best CD-quality music ever created for a game. The following WAV files are short samples -- Enjoy!
