FUR
In videogames: the Frame Update Rate. Ideally you want this to be the same as the vertical
refresh rate of the output display. If you can draw all the gubbins in your game quick enough
so that this is the case, your game will look totally smooth. The moment you start to drop frames
a perceptible judder will be evident in the display. In games where motion is fast, this will look
bad. It helps to have smooth FUR in videogames.
Not in videogames: a covering of fine hairs on the outsides of beasties which makes them so
much nicer to touch than those pink hairless humans. Llamas, for example, have llovely FUR.
