Welcome to time management using the most flexible tool available, your ATARI.› First let's configure your system disk. There are two macro files on the disk. KXE.MAC is for the owners of 130 XE and expanded XL machines with a RAMDISK configured as D8:. If your ramdisk is configured with another number you'll have to edit the macro. This is the macro of choice of the two as it minimizes disk access. K48.MAC is for any 48k system but requires you to leave the system disk in the drive and due to the frequent disk access during mode changes will be much slower than the ramdisk machines. Pick which macro is appropriate and rename it to TEXTPRO.MAC. There are also two HLP files on your disk, KXE.HLP and K48.HLP. Rename the one which matches the macro you picked to APPOINT.HLP. Now save the HELP and macro files as well as the file MONTH.GRA to another disk, you'll need the disk space. COPY your disk and boot the COPY.› THE TIME-TICKLER is based on the master list-daily list-tickler file system. While most time management programs emulate the hourly appointment book format I find that this is quite limiting since I'm not far enough up in management to have appointments set up that way. If you are required to plan and track projects, personnel progress or improvement, or even get the grocery lists together this will work much better.› The MASTER LIST is simply a list of everything you want or need to do, both personally and professionaly. You make this list in the format of statements like: BUY EDDIE A CHRISTMAS PRESENT or GET CAR WASHED. Keep the statements short and to the point, it's hard to checkoff an entry like: I WISH...,. This list is to contain EVERYTHING you want done, from board meetings to getting stamps. If you're diligent with keeping it up to date you'll never forget something. Be sure to date items that have start, follow-up, and deadline dates. A form is provided which you may use by entering INSERT MODE in TEXTPRO and making one entry after each "o", or use TEXTPRO to create one to your liking with your choice of item markers,› The DAILY LIST is your list of things you HAVE to do TODAY. Use the TEXTPRO copy function to copy items from the MASTER LIST to your DAILY LIST. I have provided a form set up in the traditional hourly format, you may use this or a "free-form" text file as you prefer.› The CALENDAR function acts as a "tickler" file to provide a SHORT reminder of dated items such as birthdays, holidays, shifts, etc. and for important deadlines, etc. from your master list. The file MONTH.GRA is provided as an empty month form. You may create new months and year files by loading several files one after the other and then typing in the months and dates while in replace mode. This form should also be saved on a separate disk as noted earlier in this text file.› More on the use of these types of files is found in the book "The Organized Executive" by Stephanie Winston, published by Warner Books. I recommend this for reading for ANYONE that wants to progress, no matter what his business.› All loading and saving of files is handled through the following macro commands.›THE TIME-TICKLER›AVAILABLE COMMANDS››
