Amiga v2600 Readme ================== Virtual 2600 is (C) 1996 Alex Hornby and others under the GNU general public license. Thanks to the FWF and X64 teams for making their work available under the GPL. Amiga v2600 version 0.6 by Matthew Stroup. Requirements: Any fast Amiga, 020 or better, OS 3.0 or better Fast RAM and 040 recommended When I saw that the v2600 code was available to be ported, I thought it would be a challenging project. It runs awfully slow on my 50MHz 68030. Probably runs at full speed on a 50MHz 060, though! This is just beta software, both my code and Alex Hornby's code. Later versions will probably be faster, and I will be implementing the sound later as well. I'm using a chunky to planar conversions by an unknown author that I found on Aminet. Amiga v2600 was compiled using SAS/C 6.57. All source for the Amiga version is included, as per the GNU public license. To get the original source code, or source code for the other versions, check the Virtual 2600 home page at: http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/ahornby/v2600.html. To compile the source for yourself, if you so desire, type: execute make Thanks to Bob Colbert and RetroWare for allowing me to include their freeware game OkieDokie. Don't e-mail me asking for ROMs, because I won't give them to you. Anyone who can use Alta Vista can find them. I highly recommend only getting the ROMs that you actually own. If you have any comments or suggestions, please send me e-mail at: stroupm@csus.edu. I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. If a game doesn't seem to be working because you selected the wrong banking type, then most likely your memory is getting trashed. This is apparently caused by faulty bank switching, which has been noted by the author. I have not, however, had any Enforcer hits. It would be a good idea, though, to reset your Amiga after using v2600. You've been warned! ;^)
