He isthe SupremeX} Guardian of theSUPERFROGS, NASTY Things, and otherLiving Creatures.SUPERFROGSThese normal looking frogs haveSuper PoweY}rs. They are invulnerableto everything except NASTY TREES.Even though SUPERFROGS have SuperPowers, they only have one lifZ}e. BECAREFUL, their life-like movementsmake them difficult to control.NASTY MINES (Black)The NASTY MINES contain a v[}ery highexplosive. If your SUPERFROG runsinto one, it will explode. Althoughnot fatal the explosion is powerfulenough t\}o stun your SUPERFROG,causing time loss in all games andthe loss of 150 points in all gamesexcept (GAME-7) SPEEDLAP. NAST]}YMINES are impossible to see during aNIGHT-TIME game unless an explosionis occurring.NASTY GRASS (Light Green)These ^}innocent looking creatures areintelligent. If your SUPERFROGattempts to run into one, the NASTYGRASS will sense this and _}zap yourSUPERFROG with a violent electricalcharge. This will stun yourSUPERFROG temporarily, causingdouble the time and `}point loss ofNASTY MINES. At this time the NASTYGRASS becomes LIFELESS GRASS (DarkGreen).NASTY TREES (Light Green)Bea}ware, the (TOPS) of these peacefullooking creatures are V-E-R-Y nastyand feared by the SUPERFROGS. Theywill not give you ab} second chance.LIFELESS GRASS & TREES (Dark Green)If your SUPERFROG bumps into one ofthese creatures or anything otherc}than one of the three NASTY Things,he will make a croaky sound and losethree hops. 2 LOADd}ING INSTRUCTIONSYou must have at least 48K ofmemory. They areable to build up enez}rgy anddischarge it in the form of a PHOTONMISSILE. The object of the game isto score as many points as possibleby blast{}ing selected targets on theplayfield (listed on next page). To build up energy, you must pressyour joystick fire button w|}ith yourjoystick in the neutral position.Your SUPERFROG will bounce on hishind legs making an oscillatingsound. The more}} energy you buildup, the louder the oscillating soundwill be, and your PHOTON will have agreater range when discharged. W~}henthe oscillating sound stops, you arealmost at your maximum energy. Atthis point you must release yourfire button. Be} careful not tobuild up too much energy, or youwill discharge your PHOTON onyourself. For this mishap THECREATOR will de}duct 1500 points fromyour score. To discharge your PHOTON properly, you must press your joystick firebutton and simultaneo}usly move yourjoystick in the direction desired (8different directions). If you hitany of THE CREATOR'S borderingALPHA-N}UMERICS, he will deduct 900points from your score. For acomplete miss, he will deduct 150points from your score. A hit on }aNASTY TREE (TOP) will turn it into aLIFELESS TREE (TOP). The RotatingRed Star will appear every 10seconds for approxima}tely 2 seconds. For a hit on the following targets,THE CREATOR will award you at leastthe corresponding points:} 4 ROTATING RED STAR 1000 DRONE - - (ONE PLAYER GAME) 750 OPPONENT - - (TWO PLAYE}R GAME) 500 NASTY TREE (TOP) 400 LIFELESS TREE (TOP) 200 NASTY GRASS 100 }TREE BRANCHES 100 TREE TRUNK 100 BURNT TREE BRANCHES 50 BURNT TREE TRU}NK 50 LIFELESS GRASS 50 NASTY MINE 50In a ONE PLAYER GAME, THE CR}EATORwill place a SUPERFROG DRONE on theplayfield as an additional target.Be careful, the DRONE maintains aconstant suppl}y of energy! When a PHOTON is discharged, thepower is "TOTALLY AWESOME",momentarily paralyzing allcreatures. When a SUPE}RFROG is hitby his opponent's PHOTON, it willdrain his energy below normal. Whena SUPERFROG or DRONE is hit by hisoppone}nt's PHOTON, THE CREATOR willgive him a PHOTON Protective ForceField (PPFF), turning him RED. Hewill retain his "PPFF" un}til heproperly discharges a PHOTON.However, in a TWO PLAYER GAME hewill retain his "PPFF", if hisopponent's score is grea}ter by 2000points. --CAUTION-- If you are nextto a SUPERFROG or DRONE with a"PPFF" and try to blast him, yourPHOTON will }ricochet off his "PPFF"and hit you. For this mishap, THECREATOR will deduct 1200 points fromyour score. Your photon will }alsoricochet off your opponent any othertime he is red.STAR1000 is not your averageshoot-'em-up game. You should plane}ach PHOTON discharge wisely. Shortrange shots don't require a lot ofenergy. Energy build up takes timewhich is very valu}able! 5 --- (Game-2) LOST-PIT ---The object of the game is to scoreas many points} possible by devouringthe Flashing Snake. To accomplishthis, you must move your SUPERFROGinto the Flashing Snake's locati}on.Each time you devour the FlashingSnake, THE CREATOR will award you100 points. THE CREATOR will thenplace another Flas}hing Snake on theplayfield in a new location. --- (Game-3) MINE-009 ---In MINE-009, the SUPERFROGS arecursed wi}th an unwanted power. TheSUPERFROGS are constantly moving, and they leave a trail of NASTYMINES behind them; one for each }hop. The only control you have is the 8different directions the SUPERFROGScan move. THE CREATOR starts youwith 2609 point}s.The object of the game is to retainthe greatest amount of pointspossible by avoiding objects on theplayfield. If yo}u run into anythingother than a piece of NASTY GRASS ora NASTY MINE, THE CREATOR will makeyou "IT". Be careful around the}NASTY GRASS and NASTY MINES. If youget zapped by a piece of NASTY GRASSor run into a NASTY MINE, youropponent could tag }you very easilywhile you are momentarily stunned.Player that's "IT":The word "IT" will appear in thelower corner of yo}ur side of theplayfield. Your objective is to tagyour opponent in as little timepossible. Your SUPERFROG will blinkcont}inuously. Each time youropponent makes 20 hops, the word"IT" will appear in your SUPERFROG'Slocation. When this happens,} youwill lose one hop. This makes thechase more challenging! When you tagyour opponent, you will receive 500points if he} was hopping, 100 pointsany other time. You will notreceive any points if your opponentruns into you.The first time you} play the game, the player on the left starts outbeing "IT". In each gamethereafter, the player starting outas "IT" will }alternate. In IT-N-RUN, THE CREATOR does notallow any NASTY TREES on theplayfield. Only LIFELESS TREES areallowed. } 8 --- (Game-7) SPEEDLAP ---The object of the game is tocomplete 5 laps in the least amountof} time. To complete a lap, youmust move your SUPERFROG around thetrack counterclockwise (thedirection of the arrows) and p}assover the start/finish line which isthe first set of arrows on thebottom of the playfield. If you move your SUPERFROG i}n thewrong direction, you will only goback as far as the start/finishline. At this point, you will nolonger be able to m}ove in the wrongdirection. In SPEEDLAP, THE CREATOR does notallow any NASTY TREES on theracetrack. The NASTY TREES arer}eplaced by LIFELESS TREES.
