The Atari 1200XL Computer

Atari 1200XL

Atari Released the Atari 1200XL in hopes that It would be a computer to save the dying Atari Home Computer Division due to competition. They were wrong. The 1200XL was not compatable with the older 400/800 computers. That is why the 1200XL was only produced for 4 months before the release of the 600/800XL computers. This computer was so unpopular that it wasn't even released in Europe! But not only that, the sales of the older 800 were higher in 1982 (its release date) because the public were let to believe that all future Atari computers were not to be compatable with the 400/800 line. This computer is considered to have the best keyboard of all Atari home computers.
