Newz From The Prez
December of 1992
The festive Christmas season is almost upon us and finds me a trifle short on news this month. Hopefully everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is looking forward to more time with family and friends.
As always, our Christmas BASH is next meeting and this time it should be a BASH with all caps! We have many new faces that have been turning up at the meetings and hopefully all of them and YOU will be able to join us for our annual celebration. Don't expect a normal meeting, we will kick back and really relax this month. PLEASE look at the enclosed signup sheet in the newsletter and plan to bring something to share with the club. It is always nice when everyone can contribute to the party so a few people don't get stuck having to provide for everyone. SPACE will be providing the ham and beverages as we have done in the past. We will leave it to YOU to deck our tables! Let's really try and out do ourselves at this one! I am planning to bring some trivia questions and I would like to get some video game playing if we can. There will also be a raffle that should be the end all, beat all raffle of this year, so don't miss it.
In the coming months, I am planning a membership drive and possibly another special speaker. If you are not coming to the meetings, you are missing out! This club is on the move. We'll send you a postcard!
See you in December, ho ho ho! Nathan Block
Christmas Bash Meeting
Bring Your Goodies

BBS Report
Michael Fitzpatrick
There isn't much to report concerning the BBS except:
NOVEMBER MEETING MINUTES
The meeting was called to order by President Nathan Block at 7:30. He explained the duties of the office of Secretary, which was currently not filled, and asked for volunteers to fill the post. Mike Weist offered to fill the office. The nomination was made and seconded, and Mike was elected to the office by unanimous vote. Nathan then asked for new candidates for the remaining offices. As there were no new candidates, the current officers ran unopposed and were elected for another term. Nathan then thanked the club members for a good year and pledged to perform the duties of President to the best of his ability.
OLD BUSINESS
Mike Fitzpatrick, SYSOP, proposed the purchase of a table for the BBS. He described the current configuration, which amounts to a couple of grocery store boxes and a plank. Mike Weist suggested a cart he could acquire from work. The decision was made to consider the cart and spend club money for a table if it works out better, decision to be made by SYSOP/CO-SYSOP. Club members were unopposed to this suggestion. Glenn Kirschenmann stated that action was necessary on the AIM magzine issue. Nathan knew the address to send the subscription list to and said he would deal with it. Related topic was the $6 variance between the names on the list and cash on hand. It was moved and seconded that the club would make up the difference. A vote was taken and passed with one dissenting vote recorded.
NEW BUSINESS
Nathan moved to modify the bylaws pertaining to the office of Club Treasurer to separate SPACE and MAST that we might elect our own treasurer. This office is currently shared between the two clubs. Motion was seconded and a vote taken. Count was 37 AYE's and 1 NAY. Nathan will compose a letter to Alan Frink, current treasurer, detailing the changes requested. Mike Weist proposed an ammendment to the bylaws pertaining to BBS conduct. After general discussion it was decided that rather than change the bylaws a screen would be added to the BBS display reminding users of proper conduct. Amos Jackson volunteered to create this screen. The upcoming Christmas party meeting was the next topic. The decision was made by Nathan to emulate last year's party format, with the club paying for the entree and the members bringing pot luck for the rest. A signup list was passed around to help co-ordinate this effort. The last topic brought up was the subject of the Bob Puff video. It was decided Nathan will try to have it ready for the December meeting. Also mentioned was the idea of copies for sale, and 6 people committed to purchase copies for the cost of reproduction. Amos Jackson will look into the prospect of using a burst copier to reduce the time in reproduction.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 9:00 PM.
The following list will give you an idea of the goodies already being brought to the Christmas meeting. If you plan to attend, maybe you can bring something not already on this list.
