the new Atari800 0.9.8 is most probably the best Atari800/800XL/130XE/5200
emulator. It's developed by several people and ported to many different operating
systems. While its features are rich and its compatibility is close to 100%, the
documentation is very incomplete and hasn't been updated for a long time.

atari800.exe   is the standard DOS version of Atari800
apma800.exe    is an Allegro version that emulates the digitized sound properly

Since this version adds two new directives into Atari800 configuration file
I suggest to first call Atari800 with -configure option:

atari800.exe -configure

You should also try to call it with -help to see the mostly undocumented options.
