ATARI 8-BIT NEWS FROM EUROPE

          Some changes at MegaZine: Mega Magazines are (c) by ANG Software
          and Freddy Offenga. The English distributor is Derek Fern (Micro
          Discount), the German distributor is ANG Germany/Powersoft and
          the Polish distributor is Mirage Software LTD.
          All MegaZines are packed in an original ANG cover and you will
          find a (c) ANG/Freddy Offenga message on each label. Only the
          Polish version will be different, but this one is not available
          on the European or US market. Do contact MegaZine if you buy an
          original which doesn't seem to be one....
          
          CD-ROM player connection to Atari 8 bit machines? Bo Schreurs is
          creating a CD-rom and Kaj de Vos will make de drivers and other
          software routines. This project will take a while. We'll keep in
          touch about this subject.

          The best of Pokey Magazine issue 1 is out now (januari 1994).
          This magazine contains a commercial game selected by the reader
          and on side-b 13 textfiles and some very good software.
          
          Querope Agency is not supporting Atari 8-bit machines anymore.
          They introduced games like Fred, Mission Shark, The Curse and
          Adax on the European market. Their new market will be IBM
          ofcourse. All Atari games will be available from ANG Software
          and other compagnies in the future.
          
          ANG Software is selling SoundTracker Player. The converter can
          convert MOD files to MD8 format. ANG also sells packs of ready
          made MD8-files. These packs, made by FM software, are great
          value for money, because the price of a single pack, which
          contians 3 disks, is only 4 pounds. That is a lower price than 3
          PD disks.
          
          Two new DOSs will be developed. XDOS (extended DOS) from
          S.Dorndorf (Germany) will be DOS 2.5 compatible and support
          MyDOS subdirectories. FoxDOS from Kaj de Vos will be SpartaDOS
          compatible.
          
          Germany
          -------
          Klaus Peters has finished the Speedy for the XF551 diskdrive.
          This Speedy is 100% compatible with the Speedy 1050 upgrades
          which were based on the 1050 Happy cards. True double density,
          Ultra speed loadroutines and some very good copy and protection
          utilities.
          
          The December issue of the TOP magazine is the last which was
          produced by the Top Crew. We don't know at this moment who will
          continue this magazine in the future.
          
          KE-soft has finished the Brundles. It's a Lemmings conversion
          for Atari 8-bit computers. The game is available for 15 English
          pounds at Derek Fern's Micro Discount and for 39 German Marks at
          KE-Soft. Kemal is working on a brand new shoot 'm up.
          
          Poland
          ------
          In the past there were a lot of new Atari 8-bit productions.
          Because of the pirated copies a lot of Polish compagnies will
          quit supporting Atari 8-bit systems. Mirage and Avalon are the
          biggest in Poland and they will continue the support. To support
          them, you should buy original games from Poland at your local
          dealer (ANG Software, Micro Discount, ANG Germany/Powersoft,
          KE-Soft)
          
          New software from Poland:

          Deimos (platformgame with sharp graphics), SOS Saturn (save
          Saturn from the dino's), Drop it (3D-color tetris), Dark Abyss
          (Very good shoot 'm up), Neron (nice platform adventure),
          Soundtracker player (MOD file player for Atari 8-bit), Wheel of
          fortune (see the television) and Sexversi (Reversi with some
          nice girls)
          
          Some software which will be available soon: T-34 (Tank vs Tanks
          game), Technus (Very good platform shoot 'm up), Protracker
          (brand new music composer), Axilox (Mind killer), Wladla and
          Pyramids (Fast platform labyrinth game).

          FTE just released a shareware version of SpartaDOS together with
          the SpartaDOS toolkit.
