You'll need a text (sometimes called shell) account with an internet provider. The provider must offer the use of a browser on their system called Lynx. For your Atari you'll need hardware to connect it to a phone line (modem, interface, etc.). You'll also need terminal software. To access text on the internet requires VT-100 terminal compatability (80 column screen and special control character sequences). I know of three terminal programs for Atari 8-bits that implement VT-100 compatability in software. The first is an old program called VT Ten Squared. It will run at at 300 or 1200 bps. A newer program is Ice-T. It does XMODEM downloads. I use FlickerTerm 80 (I'm writing this message with it on a stock 800). Hope you'll be able to find a provider and the hardware and software to run your 130XE on the web. Steve swallace@home.dmv.com
