An evil creature, the Megawump, has X}rounded up a gang of bloodthirsty monsters who raid small villages at night and store their ill-gotten treasures in the mustyY} caverns which they inhabit. Your task is to enter the creepy caverns, retrieve as much stolen treasure as possible, and colZ}lect the magic objects necessary to destroy the evil Megawump. You will find two types of treasure in the caverns: jewels w[}orth 80 points, and bags of gold coins worth 50 points. You will also find three different types of monsters: pythons, tro\}lls, and hydras. Each is more deadly than the last, and each is worth 1000 points dead. There are also weapons to be had i]}n the caverns: Orange quivers containing five "mundane" arrows, and the more valuable red quivers containing five "enchanted"^} arrows. Enchanted arrows guide themselves to the target, whereas mundane arrows fly straight and must be aimed more careful_}ly. Also needed are a golden key, and an amulet to protect you from the Megawump's lightning bolts. A green chest is hidden`} in the caverns which can be opened by the key to obtain the Enchanted Sword. When you walk into a room containing the key oa}r the amulet, an impish voice will alert you to their presence. An inventory of the objects you have is kept at the bottomb} of the screen. The leftmost number indicates the number of enchanted arrows you have, the rightmost number the number of muc}ndane arrows. Also displayed are the key, amulet, and sword, once you find them. To use an object or choose which type of ad}rrows to use, press the left and right arrow keys next to the RETURN key. You do not need to point to the amulet to use it.e} Press the fire button to use the indicated object. To fire an arrow, hold down the fire button and push the stick in the dif}rection you wish to let it fly. The game can be paused by pressing the space bar. Any other key will resume play. If you wag}nt to give up an adventure and start over, press the ESC key. If you walk into the Megawump's secret chamber carrying theh} sword, he will seal all exits and confront you in a battle to the death. To defeat him, you must first shoot him with threei} mundane arrows; enchanted arrows are too smart to face this kind of menace. Then you must use your sword to finish off the j}awful beast.
