When you have a long listing to type in, do you get fed up with the 'standard' blue screen and black border with white characters? Well here are two POKE's that will change all that.

Before you start typing in that magic program, type, in the 'Direct Mode' , i.e. without using a line number, POKE 710,n where n represents any number from 0 to 255. This will set the main screen colour to whatever you wish and make the characters anything from black to invisible! Experiment until you find a colour that suits you. Then type POKE 712,n where n is the same number as before for a screen all of the same colour or some other number for a contrast. No more strain on the eyes! Choose your own favourite colour!
