/--------------------------------------------------------------------\ ) Unofficial POVRay v3.02 for Atari M680x0 platform (X-port v2.00) ( \--------------------------------------------------------------------/ This is the final version of my PovRay v3.02 MS-DOS port to the Atari platform. ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ Important note! This set of archives replaces the original set, which used the filenames listed below. If you have X-port v1.0x then you are advised to replace the old files with these new archives! ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ The *original* filenames for X-port v1.0x are as follows: POV3_68K.LZH - 68000 & 68000+68881/2 executables. POV3_030.LZH - 68020/030 & 68020/030+68881/2 executables. POV3_040.LZH - 68040/060 executable. POV3_DAT.LZH - Docs, includes, data files and some demos. POV3_SCN.LZH - Example scene library (updated to v3.02). POV3_UTL.LZH - Lots of tools for POVRay v2.0 upwards. ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ The *new* filenames for X-port v2.00 are as follows: POV302A1.ZIP - Vanilla 68000 executable. POV302A2.ZIP - Vanilla 68020/68030/68LC040 executable. POV302A3.ZIP - 68000+SFP004 (I/O mapped FPU) executable. POV302A4.ZIP - 68020/68030+68881/2 (co-pro FPU) executable. POV302A5.ZIP - 68040/68060+FPSP (integrated FPU) executable. POV302B.ZIP - Includes, docs & other mandatory data files. POV302C.ZIP - Example scene library (updated to v3.02). POV302D1.ZIP \ POV302D2.ZIP )- Complete POVRay 3 manual in HTML format. POV302D3.ZIP / POV302E.ZIP - Plenty of tools for POVRay v2.0 upwards. ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ Choice of archives: Use the information given here to make a list of the archives you need before attempting to retrieve any large files. It could save you some time and money! Files are listed (and named) in order of relative importance, with the special exception of archives 'A1'->'A5' which contain the 5 available executables compiled for the 3 main processor groups (with and without FPUs). You only need *one* of those to make the POVRay system work! If you want to download *only* the most important files, you should chose *one* of the archives from 'A1'->'A5', and archives 'B' & 'C' which contain the (very important) support files. That will provide you with the most basic installation which includes the data files, executable for your processor type, a simple TXT file version of the manual and the mandatory examples. If you want a better version of the manual in HTML format (which can be viewed with CAB) then you should also download archives 'D1'->'D3'. Archive 'E' can be considered an 'unnecessary extra', but these tools could prove to be interesting for *some* POVRay users. ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ Extracting the archives: When extracting the files, they should all be extracted to the same place. When you have finished, you should end up with a single directory 'POVRAY3' with all the relevant subdirectories stored very nearly inside it. Everything should be in the correct place for a working POVRay system. You will have to fix the library search paths in the POVRAY.INI file and set up the POVINI environment variable but that's about it. Make sure that you disable ZIP's feature called 'Extract FFF.ZIP in subdirectory FFF', otherwise you will end up with stacks of folders with the *wrong* names and it will require a significant amount of fiddling around to re-position the files. ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ Notes: The examples are invaluable while learning to use POVRay 3, and the package cannot be legally distributed without them (see POVLEGAL.DOC). ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ Changes: The main differences between the last release and the new one can be found in the REVISION.DOC text file, which is stored in archive named 'B' with the other covering documentation. In my own opinion, there are a sufficient number of improvements, changes and fixes to merit this re-release on the Atari platform. ]--------------------------------------------------------------------[ Doug Little ~ July 1997 Email:
