The PC has the greatest number of emulators. There are emulators
for the C64, Spectrum, Videogames and even some exotic computers.
This list maybe be out of date within some days but which list
is really up-to-date (ok, except the excellent emulator-faq...)?
- Acorn BBC
- BBC
You will need ROM-Images of the BBC's Basic and OS.
- BBC386 (in development)
- BPC (in development)
- TOL
- BeebEm (Download! for Win 3.1)
Like BBC: Basic and OS are required. Runs under Win3.1 and WinNT.
- Atari ST
- Gemulator 96 (Win95; Win3.11+Win32s with losses)
Only supports graphic modes up to 16 colours and needs a card
with the TOS-Roms or MagiC.
- Gemulator 3.6 (Download!)
An older version of the Gemulator, now published as Freeware. Supports
the TOS card and MagiC (PC).
- Janus
Hardware-emulator. There are versions with 68000, 68020 or 68030.
Runs under DOS, Win and OS/2.
- MagicPC (Win95)
A portation of MagiC to Windows95. All ST-programs that
run on MagiC have no problems with MagicPC. You can also
use a ROM-image of TOS1.04-2.06 with MagicPC.
- TOS2Win (Win95)
Software-emulation; does not require a ROM-image!
- PaCifiST
A new, good-looking Atari ST emulator. Good compatibility.
- STonX PC
Just released: The PC version of STonX.
- STe v0.2 (Download!)
STE emulator, currently in development. Supports only the TOS versions
1.06 and 1.062 (often named TOS 1.6 and 1.62).
- STratos
Same as Janus, but with a ROM- and Midi-port. Announced and rather
expensive.
- STiMuL
- Atari XL/XE
- X-Former 96 (Download!)
Shareware (you can also call it commercial) emulator. This link

Freeware emulator, older version of the PC-XFormer.
- Pokey
High compatibility and good file handling with a file selector.
- Rainbow
A Windows 95 portation of the Macintosh program.
- XL-it!
Another great XL emulator.
- Atari 800 (Download!)
Portable Atari emulator.
- Amstrad CPC
- Apple II
- Chip 8
- Chip8 (Download!)
Chip8 is something like an ancient Java. There are many portation
for a wide range of computers. Chip8 has been used mainly on simple
1KB-computers, so Chip8-games are very tiny (usually smaller than 255 bytes)
- DOS Chip8 & VChip8
Another Chip8-emulator.
- Coleco Adam
- Commodore 64
- C64S v2.5 (Download!)
Good emulation. Runs many games. It comes as crippleware: The demo-version
only runs 10 minutes.
- PC64
It runs as much as the C64s which means that it emulates all
documented and some of the undocumented features of the C64.
The decision between C64s & PC64 is difficult you should try them both.
There seems to be no further development for the DOS version; there is
already a Win32s/Win95 port. No support for fast-loaders.
- PC64 Windows
Win32s/Win95 version of PC64 DOS. Currently not as compatible as the DOS version.
Supports fast-loaders.
- CCS64 (Download!)
Supports many hardware features of the C64 so even programs which refuse to
run on PC64 run on CCS64.
- C64 (Download!)
An oldtimer. A Hercules graphic card is required.
- C64Sally (Download!)
An old emulator.
- C64 Alive (Download!)
- Win 64 Beta 0.31 (Download!)
A C64-emulator in development for Win95 and WinNT.
- ALE 64 (Download!)
A new Commodore 64 emulator.
- Commodore VC20
- Dragon/CoCo
- PC-Dragon II
- T3 (Download!)
Fast Dragon- and CoCo-emulator. Requires a 386er-PC or better. The
program is in development, some operations of the real Dragon aren't
released yet. You will need a ROM-image (you can get it at Paul Burgin's homepage,
just click on PC-Dragon II).
- CoCo II-emulator (Download!)
- CoCo III-Emulator
Can only be ordered directly from the author.
- CoCo I-emulator

- Sinclair ZX Spectrum
- Sinclair ZX81
- Thomson TO/7
- TI99/4a
- TI99Emu (Download!)

Commercial TI99/4a-emulator.

- TRS-80 Model I-IV
- Z88

Faster and smaller than Z88dream; also for Windows.
- Z88dream (Download!)
Z88-emulation for Windows. It emulates also the 128KByte expanded memory.
- Z88EM (Download!)
Slow and without documentation.
- Videogames
You may have problems to get software for these emulators because
they are - for copyright reasons - not available with the emulator.
Fortunately, there are some sources for the required ROM software (click on the
name of the video game to go to the ROM section).
- Atari VCS2600
- Atari Lynx
- Nintendo Game Boy
- Virtual GameBoy
There are ports of VGB for Windows, DOS, Linux and OS/2.
- Fondle Game Boy Emulator
Based on Virtual Game Boy. Future versions may support

For Game Boy programers: This emulator can examine Game Boy games.
Normal gamers should choose a different emulator.
- PC-Boy (Download!)
- Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES)
- SPW (Win95)
Not available on the Net anymore. ATTENTION: If you get a
version 1.4a, don't start it. It is not a version of the
emulator, it is a trojan horse. It will damage files
in the Windows directory.
- SNES97
A DOS and a Windows port exists.
- Virtual Magicom
- SNES Professional (Download!)
No further development.
- Esnes
- Esnes (for VESA cards)
- Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)
- Sega emulators (Master System/Game Gear/Mega Drive)
- Others

- Colem (Colecovision)
- Coleco Ultimate (CULT)
ColecoVision emulator.
- DVE (Vectrex-Emulator)
- 3DO-Blaster (Panasonic 3DO-Karte)
In fact not an emulation. It's a complete 3DO-system on a card
for PCs with CD-Rom.
- Jaguar PC-card
Manufacturer: Sigma Design. Allows to play Jaguar-CD-games
on PCs with CD-Rom. Never released (possible reason: the low
number of Jag-CDs)
- Arcade Emulators
Emulators which emulate one or more arcade game. You will need a copy of the
original rom. Look at the ROM page if you
are looking for sources for ROM images.
- Multi Game Emulators (more than 5 different games)
- MAME
Support for 96 (!) classic arcade games. You will find the emulator
and all supported rom images on the Mame page above.
- Emu
Atari Vector game emulator. Supports: Asteroids, Lunar Lander...
- MGE
Emulates Gauntlet 1 and 2.
- Shinobi
Supports Shinobi and (partly) some other Sega games (Altered Beast, Time Scanner).
- Sparcade
Support for over 30 arcade games and - a very good Master
System and Game Gear emulator!
- Replay (Download!)
Games: Burger Time, Pacman, Super Pacman.
- S.A.G.E.
Games: Phoenix, Pleiades, Mr.Do!, Moon Cresta, Commando...
- Single Game Emulators
- Others (16 Bit)
- UAE 0.53b (Download!)
Beta-testversion of the only Amiga emulator. It's slow and doesn't support sound. UAE needs Kickstart-ROMS as a file.
- Executor
Emulation of an old Mac, without QuickDraw or QuickTime.
- Others (8 Bit)
- CP/M
I don't know why someone needs a CP/M-emulator for a MS-Dos-PC. Nearly all
CP/M-highlights like Turbo-Pascal or Wordstar are available
for PCs. Anyway, here are the emulators I have found:

CP/M 2.2-emulator

CP/M 2.2.
- Z-Sim (Download!)
