Trevor McFur - REVIEW

Despite its name, Trevor McFur does offer arcade-style entertainment, though a few refinements would of added to the game.

This game like most other 'shooters' is based on the same premise. Start by selecting a world, and fight your way through it. At the end, each world presents a "final boss" to conquer.

The graphics and animation are well-done. Sound effects are present, and do add 'a little' to the game, however it would of been nice to have had an underlay of background music as well. The game's powerups are quite creative and in some cases spectacular to watch. It's definitely worth the effort to collect these, not only for their cosmetic look, but to assist you in annihilating your opponents.

As for playability, the game does present beautifully rendered backgrounds throughout, but on the surface your mission remains the same. Eventually, you'll tire of the 'shoot all your enemies and kill the final boss' objective. This game, unless it's the only one in your library or are extremely bored will probably be solved once and then tossed-aside. However, there are cheats that could help in playing the game with an upper-hand.

Overall, the game does offer entertainment and its presentation is excellent. Unfortunately, it's all short-lived as a little more creativity (a warp mode for example) could have added to the playability. Music (or the lack thereof) is also another negative. Had these and other minute details been added, the game would be a Jag-classic.
