VidGrid(CD) - REVIEW

VidGrid, although a simple game to play in terms of control, offers quite a challenge. Viewing unscambled music video clips is a trip!

Once the CD loads, you are presented with 7 music video still images, along with an assortment of game options to choose from. By clicking on the still images, you begin the game (in easy mode at first), where the objective is to unscamble the video in the shortest time possible. You are then given the opportunity to select another video, or to re-play the same one in hopes of decreasing your solve-time.

The video quality is quite exceptional. Control, though simplistic, is responsive. Playability gets a 'paws' up for the games continual challenging modes.

You can select a 3x3 upto a 6x6 grid for your videos. Obviously, the more 'blocks' on the screen to decipher, the more difficult it is to solve. However, VidGrid adds a twist to this by allowing you to accept video segments to be 'flipped' or 'reversed'. This again adds to the challenge.

Incidentally, the following bands and songs are showcased: Aerosmith-Cryin, Metallica-Enter Sandman, Soundgarden-Spoonman, Peter Gabriel-Sledgehammer, Van Halen-Right Now, Guns N' Roses-November Rain, Ozzy Osbourne-No More Tears, Jimi Hendrix-Are you experienced?, Red Hot Chili Peppers-Give It Away.

Overall, this game is not only creative, but offers the player unique and entertaining way of viewing and 'playing' music videos. The best part about this game is that it's included with the purchase of the JAG CD.
