ATARI 130 XE
The Atari 130 xe was launched in the Las Vegas Consumer Electronic Show 1985 (with the Atari 130 ST), it has the same characteristics than the Atari 800 XL except its enhanced memory (128 Kb instead of 64 Kb for the 800), the extended memory can only be used as a ramdisk. It was an attempt to extend the life of the old XL serie but Atari neglected pretty quickly the xe serie to concentrate all its efforts on the ST computers. Several xe machines were also launched : the Atari 65 xe (which is absolutely the same computer than the 800 XL) and the Atari 65 xe game wich is a 65xe without keyboard designed to be a game console to replace the 2600, 5200 and 7800 Atari consoles. This console will have a very short life due to the 16 bits home computers competition.
A photo of the 65xe taken at the 1985 Las Vegas CES, notice that it still uses the old peripherals of the Atari 800 XL: the tape recorder and the 5.25' floppy disk unit.
The 65 XE Game console
It has exactly the same characteristics than the 65 XE. Lot of peripherals were available : light gun, tape recorder, floppy disk drive and keyboard.
