The Atari 600 XL and 800 XL are successors of the Atari 400 / 800 series and Atari 1200 XL and can use software written for these computers. They were with the Commodore 64 or the Apple II, among the most popular home computers. They will be replaced in 1985 with the Xe serie when Atari launched the ST.

It seems that a computer called 65 XL was launched just before the 65/130 XE, but I have no more informations about it.
